HPS emerges victorious in under-14 girls volleyball

JAMMU, June 19: The students of Humanity Public School (HPS) have achieved a remarkable triumph by emerging victorious in the final match of the Under-14 Girls Volleyball category at the recently concluded Inter-Zonal Volleyball Tournament of Samba District. The tournament, organized by the Department of Youth Services and Sports, took place at St. Mary's Convent School in Smailpur, Bari Brahmana.
The winning team from HPS Bassi Kalan showcased their exceptional skills, securing the coveted title. Led by Captain Pallavi Devi and Vice Captain Deepika Kumari, the team demonstrated their prowess and determination throughout the competition. Other team members who contributed to the victory include Megha Charak, Sakshi Gupta, Manpreet Kour, Sheetal, Kusheen Koul, and Suhani Roojam.
With a total of 60 participants representing three zones across the district, the tournament witnessed fierce competition and spirited performances. The event received patronage from Director YSS Sh. Subash Chander Chibber and was conducted under the guidance of Smt. Chander Kanta, the District Youth Services & Sports Officer of Samba, and the overall supervision of Umesh Kumar Sharma, the Zonal Physical Education Officer of Purmandal.
In recognition of their achievement, a special assembly was organized at HPS to honor the victorious students. Gaurav Charak, the school's Principal, commended the students for their excellent performance and acknowledged the invaluable guidance provided by their Head Coach, Mahan Singh, as well as coaches Shamsher Singh, Surjeet Singh, Rajan Singh, and Meenali Jamwal. He emphasized the school's commitment to nurturing and refining sporting talents in the region, stating that team sports play a crucial role in fostering physical fitness, resilience, and alertness in today's technological era.
Anku Charak, Vice-Principal of HPS, extended her congratulations to the winning team and expressed appreciation for the organizing committee. She commended the Youth and Service Sports Samba for hosting such prestigious sports events and conveyed her best wishes to all school officials and participating teams.
