DC flags off PRIs, watershed committee members for 3-day outreach program

KISHTWAR, June 22: Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar, Dr. Devansh Yadav, in presence of Project Manager Integrated Watershed Management Programme (IWMP) Kishtwar, Zakir Hussain Wani, today flagged off a group of 23 PRIs and Watershed Committee members for a 3-day Capacity Building tour to the renowned National Institute of Rural Development (NIRD) in Hyderabad. The primary objective of this training program is to enhance the skills and Knowledge of the participant in integrated watershed management (IWM), which is a crucial component of the PMKYSY 2.0 initiative. The individuals selected for this opportunity represent the IWM Project, specifically the Affani and Jar panchayats of Paddar block, falling under the jurisdiction of the WDC/PMKYSY 2.0. The coordination and management of this tour program have been entrusted to ACP/PM-IWMP Kishtwar as per the directives of Commissioner/Secretary RDD Mandeep Kaur. The touring group is accompanied by the Nodal officer, Dr. Adarsh Sen, who serves as the District Level Technical Expert. The training program, facilitated by the state-level nodal agency of Jammu and Kashmir, under the supervision of the Rural Development Department and Panchayat Raj, will be held at the prestigious National Institute of Rural Development in Hyderabad. The initiative aims to equip PRIs and Watershed Committee members with essential tools and expertise, enabling them to make meaningful contributions towards the integrated watershed program. The attendees will acquire valuable insights into the latest techniques and best practices in rural development.
