JAMMU, June 22: NSS unit II of GGM Science College organized an impactful awareness program on the occasion of The International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking. The event took place on 22nd June 2023, under the patronage of Principal Prof. Rajesh Kumar Gupta and the guidance of NSS PO Dr. Deepali Mahajan.
The International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, observed annually on 26th June, aims to promote global efforts in combatting drug abuse and achieving a drug-free world. This year's theme was "Together, we can tackle the world drug problem."
During the program, NSS volunteers passionately wrote slogans to spread awareness about the harmful consequences of substance abuse. The focus was on highlighting the impact of substance abuse on individuals, families, and communities. Substance abuse not only affects physical and mental health but also poses significant social and public health challenges. The volunteers aimed to inspire others to pursue their dreams instead of falling prey to drugs, conveying the powerful message: "Chase your dreams, not drugs."
