CBC exhibition highlights 9 years of Seva Sushan, Garib Kalyan in Assar

DODA, June 22: Sub- Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Assar, Lekh Raj today inaugurated Photo exhibition on 9 Years of Seva Sushan & Garib Kalyan, G20 Presidency, Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat and Mission LiFE- Conservation of water, organized by Field Office, Doda of the Central Bureau of Communication (CBC), Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India.
The Photo exhibition organised in Government Higher Secondary School Assar forms the part of a series of outreach activities being organized by CBC, Jammu & its Field Offices in UTs of J&K and Ladakh.
The 2-day long exhibition showcases the achievements of the Government of India during the 9 Years of Seva Sushan, & Garib Kalyan through a series of photo exhibits.
The aim of the Photo exhibition is to generate awareness among the masses regarding the various initiatives & welfare programmes of the Government of India.
In his address, the SDM exhorted the youth, especially students, to visit the Exhibition to get an insight into the achievements made by the Country in different fields in the past 9 years. He urged CBC Field Office Doda to organise such programmes in other hilly areas of Sub - Division Assar.
Field Publicity Officer, CBC Udhampur, Khursheed Yousuf, while welcoming the guests, gave a detailed overview of the functioning, structure and working of CBC in the twin UTs of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh. He also briefed the audience about various outreach activities that will be organized during the event. Yousuf said that these programmes are being organized so that people get benefits of various public welfare schemes of the government.
Horticulture Development Officer, Assar Dr. Rohan spoke on the implementation of the Central Sponsored Schemes of Horticulture department and urged the locals to come forward and take benefits of these schemes.
Representative from Forest Division, Farooq Ahmad, delivered a lecture on the Mission LiFE, achievements till date and urged youth to become ambassadors of sustainable development to protect the environment for a better future.
The School Principal, Sudershan K Chandail, presented the Vote of Thanks.
Others present were Forest Range Officer, Marmat Division, Angraj Singh, PRI Member, Shashi Goswami, and Officials from other departments, Teachers, Students, and locals.
The day-long programme among other activities witnessed Expert Lectures and Cultural Programmes. IEC material was also distributed among the audience. Informative stalls were also set up by the Agriculture, Horticulture, Forests, AYUSH and Animal Husbandry Departments for awareness of their respective schemes.
In the run up to the Exhibition, CBC had organized a Pre- Event at Government Higher School Assar on Wednesday to mobilize and aware the students about various activities being organized by CBC during the Photo Exhibition.
The Exhibition is open to the public up to 23rd June, during which people may visit the exhibition, participate in open Quiz competition and enjoy the cultural programmes.
