Early Times Report
REASI, June 25: In a shocking turn of events, a missing person case took a dark twist as Reasi Police uncovered the truth behind the disappearance. It was revealed that the victim, Paramjeet Singh, was actually murdered by his own son and his accomplices. The incident came to light when Dalip Singh, the victim's brother, lodged a complaint at Police Station Reasi, reporting his brother's disappearance on March 27, 2023.
Promptly initiating an investigation, Reasi Police utilized both human and technical resources to track down the missing person. As the inquiry progressed, several suspects were brought in for questioning, eventually leading to the shocking revelation of Paramjeet Singh's murder. A case was registered (FIR No. 133/2023) under sections 302/368/342/109/34 of the Indian Penal Code at PS Reasi, and dedicated police teams were formed to apprehend the accused individuals involved in the heinous crime.
After conducting raids at various locations, the teams successfully arrested the following accused persons:
Sushil Chander, son of Sansar Chand, resident of Chorakote, Teh-Bhomag, Distt-Reasi.
Vikas Thakur, son of the late Paramjeet Singh, resident of Tote, Teh-Bhomag.
Vipan Kumar, son of Rattan Lal, belonging to the Bhagat caste, resident of Kotli Manotrian.
During the interrogation, the accused persons disclosed their involvement in the murder. They, along with another individual named Seeta Ram, with a shared criminal intention, confessed to killing Paramjeet Singh on March 27, 2023, and burying his body near the Serla Bhaga area. Acting upon this information, a team from PS Reasi, led by SHO Reasi and an FSL expert, conducted a dig at the specified location under the supervision of an executive magistrate. Their efforts resulted in the recovery of the decomposed body of the deceased.
Following the necessary legal procedures, the body was transferred to Reasi Hospital and subsequently sent to GMC Jammu for post-mortem and further expert examination.
The entire operation was carried out by the dedicated teams of PS Reasi, under the leadership of Inspector Vijay, SHO Reasi, and Neeraj Padyar, DYSP HQRS Reasi, with the vigilant supervision of Amit Gupta, SSP Reasi.
Amit Gupta, SSP Reasi, shared additional details, stating that three accused persons have been arrested thus far, and the investigation is ongoing to determine the motive behind Paramjeet Singh's murder. He emphasized that more arrests in the case are not ruled out. The SSP expressed deep concern over the barbaric nature of the crime, labeling such criminals as a stain on our social fabric. He assured that the investigation would meticulously gather and incorporate all evidence to ensure justice is served for this heinous act.
