Jal Jivan Mission hosts handholding session for stakeholders

POONCH, July 7: Mission Directorate Jal Jeevan Mission J&K, in collaboration with District Jal Jeevan Mission Poonch, on Friday organised a Handholding Session for imparting training to stakeholders on the use of Field Testing Kits for water analysis and Management.
The training session held in the Multipurpose Hall of SKC Government Degree College, witnessed active participation of over PRIs, Paani Samiti members including Sarpanches, Anganwadi workers, Asha Workers, Women FTK users, Women Self Help Groups, Teachers and about 300 other participants.
At the onset of the Programme, IEC Coordinator DPMU, Adalat Khan briefed the audience about the JJM Mission, and highlighted the role and responsibilities of Paani Samitis, importance of FTK in analysing and maintaining water resources and its quality.
The event was presided over by Additional District Development Commissioner Poonch, Malikzada Sheraz-ul-Haq as the Chief Guest. Superintending Engineer Hydraulic Circle Poonch ER. Rajinder K. Sharma was the guest of honour.
While addressing the audience, he highlighted the role and the support of PRIs particularly Pani Samitis in the implementation and completion of all the schemes under JJM- a flagship programme of the Government of India to provide HAR GHAR NAL SE JAL.
Other prominent guests included Executive Engineer Jal Shakti (PHE) Er. Choudhary Riaz Ahmed; PMC Mission Directorate JJM J&K, Dr. Diljo Devis; Chief Chemist Mission Directorate JJM J&K, Rakesh Kachroo, AEEs, AEs, JEs and field staff etc.
Paramjeet Singh Chemist Distt Water testing Lab Poonch and his team gave demonstration on the use of FTK and trained Paani Samiti Members and about 300 other participants present over there.
An awareness based cultural programme featuring Nukkad Natak and Group Song was presented by the artists of Border Cultural Club Poonch led by Kulbir Singh Anjana.
Coordinator ISA Society for Scheduled and Backwards, Imtiaz Lone played a key role in organising the awareness event and the ISA was appreciated by the speakers.
The Programme concluded with felicitation of Best Performing stakeholders including Chairman Paani Samiti, Sarpanch Panchayat Bedar Mohammad Rafiq Madni and Chemist Distt Water Testing Lab Poonch, Paramjeet Singh.
