Poor performance of Govt schools in board exams: Teaching staff to face action | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, July 7: A month after the declaration of Class 12th and Class 10th results, higher-ups of the Education Department have sought reports from heads of institutes regarding the dismal performance. Chief Education Officers (CEOs) of all 10 districts of Jammu have directed concerned principals, Zonal Education Officers (ZEOs), and headmasters to prepare lists of those teachers and lecturers who failed to achieve 50 percent results. Principals, ZEOs, and headmasters have been asked to submit the report within five days. As reported earlier, the higher-ups in the Education Department have directed the Chief Education Officers to submit the details of government schools that have recorded poor performance in recently announced results of 12th standard. As compared to the Kashmir province, the performance of government schools in the Jammu division was very poor. Out of 276 students who scored first 10th positions in the Class 12th result, only 12 students of government schools from Jammu province managed to get their place among 276 students. In Kashmir Valley, out of total of 276 meritorious students, 123 are from government schools which is a clear indication of the excellent performance of government schools in the Valley. Even in some cases zero percent results have been recorded which is a matter of grave concern and needs to be addressed immediately by fixing responsibility and also taking all remedial measures so that such a situation is not repeated in the future. |
