Play on life lessons, teachings of Lord Shiva presented at Ransoo

JAMMU, July 18: On the second Monday of Shivkhori Shravan Mahotsav, the artists from Jammu & Kashmir Academy of Art Culture and Languages presented a play on the life lessons and teachings of Lord Shiva here at Ransoo.
District Development Council Member Pouni, Rita Devi was the chief guest on the occasion.
To create a memorable experience for pilgrims and visitors, a variety of events have been scheduled for each Monday of the Shravan month as a part of Shrawan Mahotsav. These activities encompass bhajan concerts, stage performances, katha and sermons, bhajan competitions, screenings of movies and documentaries, art competitions and exhibitions, as well as religious ceremonies.
With the aim to promote the art and culture of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, Academy of Art Culture and Languages presented a colourful cultural programme on the second Monday of Shivkhori Shravan Mahotsav including a play on the teachings of Lord Shiva.
Speaking on the occasion, District Development Council Member, Rita Devi said the religious Mahotsav is being jointly organized by District Administration, Reasi, Shiv Khori Shrine Board and Tourism Department.
Congratulating the people on the occasion, the DDC member said that the administration is taking far reaching steps to promote tourism in Reasi and adjoining areas by creating necessary infrastructure including development of Shiv Khori and other heritage spots in the district to attract tourists.
Additional District Development Commissioner, Jyoti Slathia stressed upon the need to develop Ransoo town in a planned manner to attract Vaishno Devi pilgrims. She appealed to the people to ensure their maximum participation in the mega event which will also give them an opportunity to seek blessings of Lord Shiva at Ransoo.
