DPAP leaders express shock and concern over landslide tragedy in Bani

Kathua, July 20: R S Chib, General Secretary of Democratic Progressive Azad Party (DPAP), along with Jugal Kishore Sharma, Provincial President, and other senior leaders of the party, issued a joint statement expressing their shock and grief over the tragic landslides that occurred in the Bani area of District Kathua. The landslides, caused by heavy rains, resulted in the loss of many valuable lives.
In their message of condolence, the leaders expressed their heartfelt sympathy to the members of the bereaved families and prayed for the speedy recovery of the injured and the safety of all those affected by the situation.
The leaders urged the District Administration to take effective and time-bound intervention through disaster management teams and on-site visits to help the victims in this difficult situation. They also coordinated with the local leadership of DPAP, as directed by Jb. G.N. Azad, Chairman of DPAP, to extend their full cooperation to the local administration in providing assistance to the affected individuals.
Mr. R S Chib, General Secretary, tried to communicate with BRIJESHWAR SINGH INDOO, the Party District President, to obtain the latest updates about the victims and injured. However, the attempt to reach the Deputy Commissioner Kathua was met with non-cooperation and indifference, while the SSP Kathua provided the necessary information.
The DPAP Leaders also expressed their dismay over the administration's decision to provide a token amount of Rs. 50,000/- per head from the SDRF to the families of those who lost their lives and Rs. 25,000/- to the injured. They demanded that a minimum amount of Rs. 10 lakhs per head should be given to the families of the deceased and Rs. 2 lakhs to the injured individuals at the earliest.
The statement was also signed by Vinod Misra, General Secretary, Hyder Malik, Ex-Dy. Speaker, Ch. Gharu Ram, Ex-Minister, Subhash Gupta, Ex-MLC, Ashok Sharma, Ex-MLA, Brijeshwar Singh Indoo, District President, Kathua, and Mrs. Aradhana Andotra, State Secretary.
