Early Times Report
DODA, July 21: Jammu & Kashmir Government has rolled out scan and share OPD registration facility in the Health Institutions in the UT J&K. The initiative launched by the Health & Medical Education Department aims to digitize healthcare records and streamline the process of availing services. In this connection, the Scan & Share OPD registration facility was started today at Government Sub District Hospital Bhaderwah. Chief Medical Officer, Dr Ab Hamid Zargar inaugurated the facility in presence of BMO, Dr Mohammad Ashraf Kuchay. The SDH Bhaderwah has become the first health facility in the Chenab region to start this new initiative and for availing this seamless service, the people have to create an ABHA ID through Aadhar and keep a mobile application with feature of ABHA, with them before visiting the hospital. The CMO informed that the Scan and Share facility forms part of the ongoing Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission. "It aims to bring ease to the patients and attendants by reducing wait time and eliminating the problem of long queues seeking OPD registration," he said. The QR code based rapid OPD registration service is being implemented by the National Health Authority under its flagship scheme Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission, which would guarantee seamless entry to hospitals as part of the digital interventions for improving citizen's ease of living, he added. Further CMO added that, very soon other health facilities like SDH Gandoh and CHC Thathri shall also be provided with this new initiative of Scan and Share OPD registration facility. BMO Bhaderwah, while giving details about the new facility at SDH Bhaderwah, said that this service will enable patients to scan the QR code of the facility and share their demographic details and health records. The QRs codes are displayed at multiple places in the waiting and registration area, where patients can easily identify them and scan them using their smartphones for faster OPD registration. Once a patient who's Scan and Share number is displayed on the screen arrives at the counter, the operator retrieves the demographic details from the system based on the token number and prints the OPD card in a hassle free manner.
