DC reviews restoration work of century-old Bhamu Chack Temple
7/28/2023 10:20:12 PM
Early Times Report
SAMBA, July 28: District Development Commissioner (DC) Samba, Abhishiek Sharma today visited the Bhamu Chack Temple to oversee the ongoing restoration work being carried out by the Archives Department in collaboration with the Public Works Department (PWD).
The DC was stressed on ensuring the preservation of the temple's ancient charm and magnificence throughout the restoration process. For this, the executing agency was directed to seek the assistance of a qualified consultant/architect with expertise in heritage conservation and construction.
During the inspection, the DC emphasized the promotion of the Border tourist circuit, particularly focusing on the pilgrim spots of Baba Chamliyal and Bhamu Chack Temple. To facilitate seamless exploration for tourists and visitors, the DC instructed the engineers to install signages at these sacred locations. These signages will provide essential information about the twin places to enable the tourists visiting one site to discover and access the other, enhancing their overall pilgrimage experience.
Later, the DC proceeded to Village Abtal, where he inspected the construction works under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY). The DC expressed the administration's commitment to provide affordable housing to all deserving beneficiaries under this flagship government scheme.
Furthermore, the DC also inspected the progress of work on community bunkers, which are being developed to ensure the safety and security of the locals in times of cross border shelling. These bunkers are part of the administration's efforts to strengthen disaster preparedness and protect the lives of residents residing in vulnerable areas.
The District Commissioner's visit underscores the administration's dedication to preserve cultural heritage, promoting tourism, and ensuring the well-being of the residents. Such proactive and comprehensive assessments are pivotal in achieving holistic development and sustainable growth for the district.
