Paving way for Jammu & Kashmir's prosperity: Raman Suri
7/28/2023 10:21:54 PM
Early Times Report
JAMMU, July 28: Raman Suri, Executive Member of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Jammu and Kashmir, highlighted the significant progress made in the region, attributing it to the BJP government's commitment to prioritize the prosperity and well-being of the people. He expressed pride in witnessing the restoration of the traditional route of the Muharram procession in Srinagar by the Shia community after 34 years, along with the successful G20 meet and a notable increase in tourist inflow during summers, all of which signal a return to peace and normalcy in the Kashmir valley.
Suri credited the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the BJP government's diligent efforts in creating an environment of peace and development in Jammu and Kashmir. He emphasized that the government's hard work is now bearing fruit, allowing people of all faiths and communities to carry out their social and religious obligations peacefully. The resurgence of traditional celebrations, religious processions, and pilgrimages, as well as the influx of tourists contributing to the region's economy, showcases the positive changes taking place.
The peaceful Muharram procession in Srinagar, the successful G20 meet, the continuous arrival of tourists, and the record-breaking Shri Amarnath Ji pilgrimage are all indicative of the government's success in providing an atmosphere of peace and prosperity in the region. Suri commended the cooperation of the people, the efforts of security forces guarding the borders, the Jammu and Kashmir police instilling confidence among the masses, and the administration under Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha for taking measures to promote a sense of security and normalcy.
According to Suri, the transformation in the Kashmir Valley, which was once marked by strikes, stone pelting incidents, and protests, is evident as youngsters now actively participate in various activities, such as shopping in aesthetically-developed streets, pursuing higher studies, opening start-ups, and showcasing Kashmir's beauty and infrastructure through vlogging. He believes that this positive change will showcase Kashmir's potential on international forums across different fields.
The restoration of peaceful Muharram processions both in Kashmir and Jammu, carried out by the Shia community, represents a historic milestone in achieving the desired results of bringing lasting peace to the region. Suri expressed hope that people will continue to cooperate and support the government's efforts, leading to a return to the region's golden era, where the world once admired its geography, traditions, culture, and skilled craftsmanship of its artisans.
