Early Times Report
SAMBA, July 29: Kendriya Vidyalaya Samba organized a press conference to commemorate the 3rd anniversary of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. The event was attended by the Principal of Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Nud and principals from neighboring schools. During the conference, the Principal of KV Samba highlighted the key aspects and flexibility of the NEP 2020.
At the outset, the Principal of KV Samba emphasized that the NEP 2020 is designed with a child-centered approach and provides subject flexibility, along with the provision of a multidisciplinary approach. The policy aims to shift from rote learning to practical education, focusing on critical thinking and fostering students' interaction with real-life situations to achieve learning outcomes under the NIPUN BHARAT Mission.
The NEP 2020 has introduced new concepts, such as Balvatika Classes and VidyaPravesh, which serve as play-based school preparation for Grade-I children. Additionally, the scheme implements skill subjects like Artificial Intelligence and pre-vocational skills in carpentry, electrician work, and poultry farming for students in classes VI to VIII.
The policy also makes it mandatory to organize Parent-Teacher Meetings (PTM) every month, ensuring active involvement and communication between parents and teachers. Regular pedagogical training is provided to teachers to enhance their teaching skills and techniques.
The NEP 2020 also offers various learning portals, including Vidyanjali, PM-E Vidya, Vigyan Jyoti, and Diksha, which contain a repository of e-learning contents, providing students and educators with access to a diverse range of educational resources.
The press conference served as a platform to highlight the transformative initiatives and objectives of the NEP 2020, promoting an inclusive and progressive approach to education. The celebration at Kendriya Vidyalaya Samba aimed to foster awareness and understanding of the significant impact the NEP 2020 brings to the education system in the region.
