NSS, Red Ribbon Club join hands to raise awareness on organ donation

JAMMU, Aug 3: In a bid to promote the significance of organ donation, the NSS Unit in collaboration with the Red Ribbon Club of GDC Sidhra organized an awareness lecture on Angdaan Mahotsav, which commenced on July 1st, 2023. The campaign aligns with the Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav and aims to spread awareness on organ donation throughout the country.
The awareness lecture witnessed enthusiastic participation from NSS Volunteers and Red Ribbon Club volunteers, who listened with keen interest as Prof. Harpreet Kour, HOD Political Science, and Dr. Mussarat Chowdhary, HOD Economics, shed light on the importance of Angdaan Mahotsav and raised awareness about the vital need for organ donation.
Indian Organ Donation Day, celebrated on 3rd August 2023, marked a significant milestone in the ongoing Angdaan Mahotsav Campaign. The campaign strives to encourage individuals to come forward and pledge to donate their organs, thus saving numerous lives.
Dr. Satbir Kour, Convenor of Red Ribbon Club, and Dr. Mehmood Ahmed, Programme Officer of NSS Unit, played pivotal roles in the successful organization of the programme, ensuring that it achieved its intended purpose. Their dedicated efforts, combined with the invaluable guidance of Dr. Bharat Bhushan Anand, the esteemed Principal of GDC Sidhra, led to the seamless execution of the event.
The Angdaan Mahotsav 2023 campaign not only highlights the noble cause of organ donation but also instills a sense of responsibility and compassion in the society. By coming together and supporting this cause, the community can take collective steps towards saving and improving lives.
