| GDC Vijaypur celebrates Angdaan Mahotsav | | |  Early Times Report
JAMMU, Aug 3: NSS unit (KHIDMAT) of GDC Vijaypur celebrated AngDaan Mahotsav under the aegis of Meri Mati Mera Desh in the college campus by spreading awareness among the students and NSS volunteers of the college about the importance of donating organs and tissues to give a new lease of life to those in need.
Dr. Vandana Gupta, Principal of the College while speaking on the occasion emphasized upon facilitating the family members of the dead for organ donation, dispelling myths and misconceptions associated with organ donation. She further added that motivating and encouraging the citizens of the country to donate organs and tissues after death as well as to imbibe the value of organ donation can save innocent lives in need. Furthermore, she administered 'Organ Donation Pledge' among the students and staff including teaching and non-teaching staff of the college that 'we pledge to donate our organs after our deaths to the needy ones keeping in view the shortage of organs and tissues for transplantation in our country.'
