GDC Kathua organizes poster making competition

KATHUA, Aug 3: The Centre for Women Studies at Government Degree College, Kathua, took a proactive step towards promoting awareness about audio-visual aids among students by organizing a compelling poster making competition on the college campus. More than thirty-five enthusiastic students participated in the event, showcasing their artistic skills and creativity.
The competition was meticulously coordinated under the able guidance of Dr. Rachna, the Director of Centre for Women Studies, GDC Kathua. Gracing the occasion as the Chief Guest, Prof. Seema Mir, the Principal of GDC Kathua, extended her heartfelt congratulations to the participants. She praised the students for actively taking part in the competition and emphasized the significance of audio-visual aids, especially for those aspiring to pursue teaching as a profession. Prof. Seema Mir also commended the efforts of the Centre for Women Studies for organizing such a noteworthy event on the college campus. In her address, she encouraged the organizing committee to conduct more such workshops and touch upon diverse issues, enabling students to express their views through posters and lectures.
Dr. Rachna expressed her gratitude to Prof. Seema Mir for gracing the occasion with her presence and sparing valuable time for the workshop. She also extended a warm welcome to the esteemed judges of the event, Prof. Dr. Shub Kumar, HOD Sanskrit, Dr. Kamaldeep Singh, HOD Punjabi, and Dr. Natasha from the Department of English. Dr. Rachna emphasized the aim of conducting this workshop, which was to help students consider teaching as a profession and make the process more engaging and effective through innovative teaching methods and devices.
The participants were acknowledged for their creative efforts with participation certificates. Furthermore, they were encouraged to share their posters on their social media accounts to raise awareness on the importance of audio-visual aids in education.
The workshop witnessed the presence of senior faculty members, including Prof. Raj Kiran, HOD Physics, and Prof. Rakesh Singh, HOD Chemistry, who added their valuable insights to the event.
The Poster Making Competition organized by the Centre for Women Studies was a resounding success, leaving a lasting impact on the participants and motivating them to play an active role in shaping the future of education through creative and effective teaching approaches.
