| 20 Bundles of banned Chinese Manja (Gattu) recovered by Jammu Police | | |

Jammu, Aug 3: In a drive against the sale of banned synthetic threads (manja) various nakas were laid in different locations by Jammu Police.
An information was received at PS Janipur regarding sale of banned synthetic threads. On this special police teams of PS Janipur under the supervision of SDPO West Vikram Singh were constituted. The team led by SHO PS Janipur Inspr. Sikander Singh during naka checking at Jagi Darbar Janipur rounded up an accused person who was coming from Bantalab towards Janipur on his scooty bearing Registration No JK02BV-3199. During search, 20 bundles of Chinese Manja (Gattu) were recovered from his possession.
In this regard, case FIR No. 79/2023 U/S 188 IPC got registered at PS Janipur and accused got arrested.
The arrest was made in violation of DM order regarding ban on sale of plastic/synthetic threads (manja).
The arrested persons was later identified as:- Dhrub Mehra S/o Rajinder Kumar R/o Shakti Nagar Jammu.
It is requested to the general public to inform at the nearest Police station/ Police Post regarding sale of synthetic threads (manja). Moreover general public is informed not to buy or sale such synthetic threads (manja). |
