Early Times Report

Ramnagar, Aug 4 : GDC Ramnagar celebrated India’s 75th Independence Day with great fervor by organizing an inspiring Essay-Writing Competition as a part of the Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav (AKAM) celebrations. Under the patronage of esteemed Principal Dr Bhavnaish Chand, the competition aimed to commemorate the unsung heroes of India’s freedom struggle and encourage the spirit of nationalism and patriotism among the youth.
The Essay-Writing competition, held on 4th August, witnessed enthusiastic participation from students across various semesters. The topic, “Role of unsung Freedom fighters in getting the Independence of India,” provided a platform for young minds to explore and honor the forgotten heroes who played significant roles in India’s liberation from colonial rule.
Under the able guidance of Prof. Ritika Mahajan, convener AKAM, the event was well-organized and carried out smoothly. The esteemed panel of judges, including Dr Divya Puri, Dr Rashmi Gupta, and Dr Sonam Gandotra, evaluated the essays based on their content, historical accuracy, and creative expression.
Sunidhi Mahajan, a brilliant student from the 5th semester, secured the first position with her insightful essay that shed light on the invaluable contributions of the unsung freedom fighters. The second position was claimed by Aneet Kumar, also from the 5th semester, for his compelling narrative celebrating the lesser-known heroes of India’s struggle for independence. Nikita Gupta, from the 3rd semester, showcased her research and writing skills, securing the third position with a commendable essay that honored the sacrifices made by these forgotten icons.
Principal Dr Bhavnaish Chand expressed his delight at the successful organization of the event, emphasizing the importance of such activities in nurturing a sense of national pride and responsibility among the youth. He commended the AKAM committee for their efforts in making the Independence Day celebrations truly memorable and meaningful.
The Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav (AKAM) celebrations have been an opportunity for the GDC Ramnagar community to connect with the rich history, culture, and achievements of India while paying homage to the unsung heroes who shaped the nation’s destiny.
As the country continues to celebrate the 75th year of independence, initiatives like these essay-writing competitions not only honor the past but also instill a sense of responsibility towards building a progressive and united India among the leaders of tomorrow.
