Samba, Aug 4: Samba Police demonstrated a high degree of professionalism in their investigation of a tragic murder and attempted murder case in Dhaki, Sumb.
Under the supervision of Senior Superintendent of Police, Samba, a challan has been filed in the court against a father who murdered his 20-year-old unmarried son and attempted to murder his wife and daughter on April 12 earlier this year.
The incident led to the registration of FIR No. 78/2023 under sections 302/307 IPC at Police Station Samba through Police Post Goran, and the subsequent arrest of the accused Kulbir Singh, son of Jaswant Singh, residing in Dhaki Sumb, Samba.
The investigation was meticulously conducted by a team comprising of DySP Garu Ram, SHO Police Station Samba Rajeshwar Singh, and I/C PP Goran PSI Sajid Jaral, under the monitoring of Additional SP Samba, Surinder Choudhary. The investigation revealed that on the morning of April 12, 2023, Kulbir Singh attacked his 20-year-old son, Jeetan Singh, while he was sleeping with his siblings, wife Poonam, and 16-year-old daughter, using a sharp-edged weapon (‘darat’).
Tragically, his son lost his life, and his wife and daughter sustained serious injuries. In light of the evidence, the police added section 226 to the case, and subsequently, the challan was filed under sections 302/307/326 IPC, which has been presented in the court for judicial determination.
Senior Superintendent of Police, Samba, Benam Tosh, com mended the police force’s exceptional professionalism in handling murder cases in the district. He emphasized that the investigations were conducted diligently and in a time-bound manner, leaving no room for unnecessary delays.
