CBC organizes seminar, drawing competition, cleanliness drive at Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya

Samba, Aug 7: The Central Bureau of Communication, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India, Field Office Kathua/Samba, conducted an impressive program at Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Nud Samba. The event saw the participation of students, community members, P.R.I Members, and community leaders.
Sh. Rajesh Sharma, In-charge CBC Kathua/Samba, delivered the welcome address, shedding light on various activities undertaken by CBC across India, with a special focus on J&K and Ladakh. He highlighted the “Mission Life” initiative, aimed at bringing lifestyle changes to save the environment and turning India’s vision into observable effects for environmental protection. He also emphasized India’s entry into “Amrit Kaal” and the efforts citizens must make to realize the reality of an emerging India.
Sudesh, the expert speaker, stressed the importance of such programs in raising awareness among the masses. She discussed India’s hosting of the G20 Presidency, a significant moment in history seeking pragmatic global solutions for the well-being of all, reflecting the spirit of Vasudev Kutumbakam or “world is one family.” Regarding Mission Life, she emphasized the need for behavioral changes to protect the environment and appreciated the efforts of CBC Kathua/Samba, urging more such programs in far-flung schools of Samba district.
Sunit Kumar Gupta, Principal of Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Nud, provided detailed information about Azadi Ka Amrit Mohatsav and other programs celebrated by the Government of India. He highlighted the Panch Pran pledge, urging bigger resolves, erasing traces of servitude, being proud of India’s legacy, the strength of unity, and citizens’ duties with honesty. He encouraged energy-saving practices like using CFL/Tube lights and switching off vehicles at traffic lights and railway crossings. The school’s efforts to reduce pollution and carbon footprints were also highlighted.
Satya Prakash, Senior Lecturer of the Vidyalaya, discussed the significance of national festivals like Independence Day and Republic Day, commemorating the sacrifices made by freedom fighters for India’s independence.
A cleanliness drive was carried out at the Vidyalaya, with enthusiastic participation from the students. A pledge for the protection of the environment was also administered during the program.
A drawing competition on the topic of “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav” was organized, adding an artistic dimension to the event. The program concluded with felicitations and light refreshments.
