48 grams of heroin recovered by Jammu Police

Jammu, Aug 7: Continuing it’s drive against drug trafficking and substance abuse, Jammu Police achieved major success by recovering 48 grams of heroin from two accused persons during naka duty in the areas under the jurisdiction of PS Bakshi Nagar and PS Kanachak.
A police team of PS Bakshi Nagar led by SDPO West Vikram Singh assisted by SHO PS Bakshi Nagar Inspr. Rakesh Sharma while on naka duty near Pawan Ice Cream rounded up a suspect. On search, 43 grams of heroin was recovered from him.
In this regard a case FIR No. 114/2023 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act got registered in PS Bakshi Nagar and accused were arrested. The accused arrested was later identified as Anil Kumar S/o Chet Ram R/o Amritsar, Punjab A/P Shiv Nagar, Jammu.
The overall arrest and recovery was made under the supervision of SP North Kulbir Handa.
Similarly another police teams of PS Kanachak led by SDPO Domana Vishal Shoor assisted by SHO PS Kanachak Inspr. Sandeep Singh Chib while on naka duty rounded up a suspect. On search, 05 grams of heroin was recovered from him.
In this regard a case FIR No. 101/2023 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act got registered in PS Kanachak and accused were arrested. The accused arrested was later identified as Talib Hussain S/O Mohd. Ashraf R/O Takku Chak, Purkhoo Jammu.
Further investigation of the case is going on.
Jammu police is working intensively to uproot the chains of drug supply in the region and thorough questioning of the accused is going on to know the origin of the drugs supply chain.
