Awareness program on government schemes organized at Balakot

Poonch, Aug 8: The Central Bureau of Communication (CBC), Poonch, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India, organized an awareness program focusing on “9 Years of Seva Sushasan aur Garib Kalyan,” Independence Day, Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav, Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat, Mission LiFE, and G-20 Presidency. The event took place at Govt. HSS Dhargaloon in Balakot, District Poonch.
The program aimed to inform the public, especially in remote border areas like Balakot, about the various benefits of government schemes and initiatives. Present at the event were Mohd Amin, Principal of GHSS Dhargaloon, Sh. Intikhab Ahmed Khan Naib Tehsildar, Balakote, faculty members of GHSS Dhargaloon, officers and officials from ICDS, Revenue, FCS & CA, and CBC Poonch.
Intikhab Khan expressed the importance of organizing regular awareness programs about government schemes and programs to ensure that people are aware of their benefits. Principal Mohd Amin highlighted the significance of the National Education Policy (NEP 2020) in transforming India into a knowledge society and praised the utility of the program organized by CBC for the people of Balakot.
Vijay Mattoo, Field Officer of CBC Poonch, emphasized the government’s efforts to uplift the poor through centrally sponsored schemes, noting that these initiatives have revolutionized the country. Sh. Mohd. Shakeel, a Lecturer in Zoology, discussed the impact of Direct Benefits Transfer (DBT) in saving government funds and ensuring transparency in implementing schemes.
Ejaz Ahmed CCA from Food Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Dept. Dhargaloon educated the audience about various department-related schemes and encouraged those who can afford to withdraw their names from PMGKAY voluntarily, allowing more deserving individuals to benefit.
The event included a drawing competition with 25 student participants. Shabab Ali secured the first position, Nuzhat Intiyaz secured the second position, and Mariya Kouser and Shoih Akhater shared the third position.
The students of GHSS Dhargaloon also presented captivating cultural performances.
As part of its contribution, CBC donated ten dustbins and four floodlights to the institution. All guests and participants were felicitated by CBC Poonch, acknowledging their involvement in this informative and beneficial event.
