VIJAYPUR, Aug 10: As a part of the series of program being organized under the banner of 'Meri Maati Mera Desh' a nationwide campaign, 'Azadi ka Amrut Mahotsav', 'G20' and 'Shikshit Bharat', the Cultural Committee and NSS Unit (KHIDMAT) of GDC Vijaypur today organized an event of painting the walls to fulfil the theme "Jashn-e-Azadi". The competition was organized to nurture a sense of patriotism among the college students and NSS volunteers. Students of the College actively participated in wall painting enthusiastically with great interest and zeal by putting their ideas and thoughts in a very creative order.
Principal of the College, Dr. Vandana Gupta, while speaking on the occasion, appreciated the efforts of the students who put forward their ideas regarding 'Indian Independence Day' through artistic paintings. She further articulated that Independence Day is not simply a day of pleasure and enjoyment for Indians but is also a day to commemorate those who gave their lives in service of nation as well as in achieving independence from Britishers.
The wall painting witnessed participation of nearly 30 students belonging to Semesters (III and V) of both Arts and Commerce streams of GDC Vijaypur who were divided into four groups. The participants portrayed beautiful wall paintings on various themes like painting martyrs, national flag, hoisting of flag at Lal Quila by Prime Minister and many more such themes.
The competition was coordinated by Prof. Poonam Kundan (Convener, Cultural Committee) and Dr. Naseem Chowdhary (NSS PO) and co-coordinated by Dr. Shittal Sharma (Convenor, NSS and IQAC) and Prof. Anil Bhagat (HoD Commerce). The refreshment was also distributed to the students during the event.
