NYKS organizes Meri Maati Mera Desh

JAMMU, Aug 10: "Meri Maati, Mera Desh continues to attract public participation with NYKS organizing thousands of panchayat level programs across the UT on second day.
The activities under Meri Mati Mera Desh gathered momentum on second day with NYKS organizing thousands of Panchayat level activities in all the districts of the UTs of J&K and Ladakh. The nation is celebrating "Azadi Ka Amrit Mahostav" in befitting manner all over the country since last two years and Government of India is organizing Meri Maati, Mera Desh….. on theme "Mitti Ko Naman, Veeron Ka Vandan" Campaign as accumulating event of Azadi ka Amrit Mahostav from 9 th to 15 th of August 2023.
On the second day of the campaign, large number of plantation drives were organized across the two UTs in a true display of Jan Bhagidari. Panch Pran pledges were also administered in all the programs. In most of the events, active coordination with Indian Army, BSF, CRPF was witnessed in all the districts. On the occasion, Rich Tributes were also paid to local Martyrs and veer naaris and ex-servicemen were also honored and felicitated. India Army, BSF, CISF, JKP, UT Administration, District Administration, District Police as well as NGOs, Youth Clubs, Mahila Mandals and CBOs were involved throughout the UTs by organizing programs under the “Meri Mati Mera Desh”; campaign. Lectures on Panch Pran of Amrit Kal were also delivered by Resource Persons to sensitize the youth for their active participation in vision India@2047. Young speakers also expressed their views vision India@2047.
In Jammu Division, numerous Panchayat wise plantation drives as part of & “Meri Maati, Mera Desh”; programme under Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav were held. In Block Sathra of Poonch District, Plantation derive was held in which Vinay Kumar SSP Poonch was the chief guest. Other districts were Doda, Kishtwar, Ramban and Udhampur, special winter zone/ temperate zone where variety of saplings were planted. In plain areas, other saplings suitable for summer zone were planted. Martyrs were remembered during these drives and veer naris were also honoured. In many programs, collaboration with Army and Paramilitary forces was achieved to observe the national program in a befitting manner. In Jammu district,NYK Jammu planted saplings and take the pledge in Block R.S. Pura, Bishnah, Nagrota with the Indian Army and Panchyat. NYK Jammu also planted saplings in Panchyat Ghar of Hardu Malara (Chowki Choura) in coordination with Forest Officers, Police Department and Panchyat, in which Jia Lal, BDC Chairman, Jeet Singh Forest Officer, Chuni Lal, Sarpanch Kamlesh Devi Sarpanch were the Chief Guests. Shaveta, Sahil Sharma, Sushma Sharma NYV,NYK Jammu and other Youth clubs played the key role in organizing these programme.
In Kashmir division also the event saw a hugle public response with large number of people and youth joining the plantation drives. Various departments of UT Govt also played an active role. Army and Paramilitary personnel remained present and coordinated in the programs in which exservicemen, veernaaris were honoured. In the UT of Ladakh also, public at large played an active role in the successful organisation of the National event on the second day. ITBP and Army personnel were involved in various plantation events. Different events were organised at Srinagar and Baramulla ,Vasudha vandhan Panch praan pledge, Veeron Ka Vandan at Harwan Srinagar and Khowjabagh Baramulla, Faqoor Jugri Srinagar, Pattan, Tangmarg the Function was attended by Sanjay Yadav, DIG NKR CRPF 53 BN, Sanjeev Kumar Sharma,Comdent 53 CRPF and other high officials and Jawans Principal Degree College Baramulla, DYSSO Baramulla and Panch and Sharpan h Faqeer Gujuri Srinagar attended the Function as Chief Guest and Guest.
It is pertinent to mention that plantation drives are being held in all the Panchayats of the nation from 9 th to 15 th August after which Mitti Kalash shall be collected from Panchayats and sent to Block and then to National Capital subsequently.
