Early Times Report

Khour, Aug 10: To make aware the youth of the border and rural area against the drug abuse "Team Hum Sath Sath Hai '' under the Chairmanship of Monu Verma organised a one day seminar on "Drug Abuse and its prevention".
Hundreds of youth from the different villages participated in the programme whereas SHO Khour Rahul Mahajan, Major Amit Pathak, Atul Sudan Vice President JJSF and Social Activist Shambhu Sharma were the guest speakers during the program. Deputy Ram President Municipal Committee Khour was the Special Guest during the program.
Rahul Mahajan SHO Khour while addressing the gathering emphasised that J&K Police has started a three-fold strategy encompassing dismantling the drug network, fostering awareness and providing dedicated support for drug victims.
He appealed to the youth to be the ambassadors of J&K Police against the drug menace.
Atul Sudan Vice President Jammu Joint Student's Federation while speaking on the occasion discussed the various statistics of drug addicts in Jammu Kashmir. Urging the youth to stay away from drug abuse and play an important role in nation building and remain engaged in all sorts of sports activities, Atul Sudan appealed to the LG Administration to raise more infra-structure like open and indoor stadiums and promote sports activities in each and every district especially in rural areas of JKUT so that young generation remains healthy and physically fit.
Jammu Kashmir Police undoubtedly is doing a great job by seizing contrabands of drugs and arresting a number of drug peddlers but the sad affair is that the big fishes, who are running the trade are still at large and succeeding in their nefarious designs," pointed out Atul Sudan. He further pointed out that the police department shall also evolve a mechanism to plug in all routes of narcotic smuggling to thwart all attempts of the Drug mafia, which is hell bent to ruin the lives of the younger generation.
Major Amit Pathak while speaking on the occasion said that Pakistan is playing the dirty game of exploiting our youth not only by handing over guns to them but also by pumping in drugs through its mafia and make them addicts," he alleged and said that Pakistan is a coward nation and by indulging into such acts, it has proved it. He said the Indian Army is leaving no stone unturned to defeat narco terrorism and seeks the support of border youth in this mission.
Shambu Sharma social activists appealed to the youth to spend the time with their parents to learn the moral values which will help them to defeat such social evils.
Team Hum Sath Sath Hai during the program started a free E-rickshaw service of E-rickshaw for poor patients of the area.
The E-rickshaw services will be provided by Karan Singh Bhau. Meanwhile 6 Volleyball kits were also provided to the youth by Monu Verma Chairman Team Hum Sath Sath Hai.
