5 day teachers training programme on learning outcomes concludes at SCERT Jammu

JAMMU, Aug 12: The five-day training program on "Development of Teacher Resources for Classroom Transaction of Learning Outcomes at Secondary Level" successfully concluded today at the State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT) J&K, Divisional Office Jammu.
Organized from August 8th to August 12th, 2023, the program was orchestrated by the Department of Teacher Education (Academic Unit-II) SCERT J&K Jammu, under the mentorship of Prof. (Dr.) Parikshat Singh Manhas, Director of SCERT J&K. The program received steadfast guidance and supervision from H.R. Pakhroo, Joint Director, SCERT J&K Jammu.
The inauguration was graced by Joint Director, who highlighted the crucial role of effective teaching-learning resources in enhancing student learning outcomes. He stressed the importance of updating both content and pedagogical skills for the professional growth of educators. The welcome address was presented by Deepak Kumar, Academic Officer of SCERT J&K Jammu. Various esteemed educators, including Prof. Swaran Singh Jaral, Dr. Neeraj Jandial, Kishor Kumar, N.P. Singh, and Romi Kumar, were also present.
The program saw the participation of 40 individuals (DIET faculty/KRPs) from 10 DIETs of the Jammu Division, with four representatives from each DIET. These participants will go on to serve as master trainers in their respective districts.
The objective of the program was to orient KRPs (Key Resource Persons) and DIET faculty members towards the development of learning outcome-based teacher resources for effective classroom transactions at the secondary level.
The training program featured resource persons such as Dr. Neeraj Jandial, Associate Professor, Dr. Harpreet Kaur, Sr. A.O. Anil Sharma, A.O., Yogesh Kumar, A.O., Parshotam Singh, A.O., Arsh Kaur, A.O., Monica Sharma, A.O., Sushil Hitaishi, A.O., Dr. Balgar Singh, A.O., Abha Verma, A.O., Puneet Thukral, A.O., Rakesh Chobber, A.O., Rohit Sharma, A.O., Amit Kumar, A.O., Jeevan Singh, A.O., and Manisha Chun, A.O. from SCERT J&K Jammu. These sessions enlightened participants about the role and use of various teaching-learning resources and materials, along with subjects like English, Hindi, Science, Social Sciences, and Mathematics. They also delved into subjects like lesson planning, ethics, value education, critical thinking, problem-solving, inclusive education for students with special needs, and ICT integration in teaching and learning.
The training program was seamlessly coordinated by Deepak Kumar, Academic Officer, with assistance from Dr. Sabeta Kohli, Academic Officer, JKSCERT Jammu. Ms. Lakshmi Puri served as the Technical Coordinator, with the organizing team including Jyoti Sudan, Manisha Chun, and Abha Verma.
In his closing speech, N.P. Singh, Associate Professor, urged participants to integrate the knowledge gained from the program into their classroom practices. He encouraged educators to utilize various teaching-learning resources to foster an interactive and student-centric teaching-learning process, aligning with the vision of the National Education Policy 2020. The vote of thanks was presented by Swaran Singh Jaral, Professor and Head of AU-II, SCERT J&K Jammu.
