PTTI launches plantation drive under Meri Maati Mera Desh Abhiyan

VIJAYPUR, Aug 12: The Police Technical Training Institute (PTTI) in Vijaypur took a significant step towards environmental conservation by initiating a plantation drive on August 12, 2023, as part of the ongoing Meri Maati Mera Desh Abhiyan. The endeavor was aimed at fostering an understanding of the importance of preserving the environment among police personnel, promoting green spaces, ecological balance, and the associated benefits.
The drive was inaugurated by Shri Imtiaz Ismail Parray- IPS, DIG(Training) PHQ-J&K, accompanied by Shiv Kumar, SSP, Principal PTTI Vijaypur, and J.S Johar, SSP, AIG (Training/Policy) PHQ-J&K. Various types of plants, including ornamental, medicinal, herbal, and fruit-bearing plants, were planted within the Institute's premises. The event saw enthusiastic participation from the institute's staff and trainees, highlighting their commitment to environmental sustainability.
Notable officers who joined the plantation initiative included Shri Varun Jandial, Dy.SP (Trainings) PHQ-J&K, Kuljeet Singh, Dy.SP PTWS Jammu, Shri Devinder Gupta, Dy.SP (R&D), along with several inspectors, sub-inspectors, and other personnel. The collective effort underscored the institute's dedication to both professional training and fostering a greener future.
By integrating environmental consciousness into its activities, PTTI Vijaypur sets a commendable example for others to follow. The institute's initiative aligns with the broader objective of the Meri Maati Mera Desh Abhiyan, contributing to a sustainable and ecologically balanced society.
