Early Times Report
JAMMU, Aug 12: Delhi Public School Jammu, in a spirited display of patriotism and cultural diversity, commemorated the 77th Independence Day with a special assembly that encapsulated the essence of India's rich heritage and bravery.
Colonel Balraj Sharma, a distinguished recipient of the Shaurya Chakra, and Lt. Colonel Sanjeev Koushal, Commanding Officer of the Jammu Unit, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest and Guest of Honour respectively. Their stirring words resonated with the audience, emphasizing the pivotal role of the youth in shaping the nation's future and encouraging students to consider careers that contribute to the country's growth, including the armed forces.
The assembly kicked off with a heart-touching patriotic song performed by the school choir, bedecked in vibrant ethnic attire representing various Indian states. The waving of the national flag heightened the atmosphere of liberty and unity, evoking a sense of national pride. Scintillating group dance performances by students from pre-primary, primary, and middle wings, accompanied by a solo dhol performance, added vibrancy to the celebration.
Suhani Sharma's soulful solo Raag Malkauns performance, supported by tabla, harmonium, and tanpura, transported the audience into a realm of reflection, highlighting India's unity in diversity. A PowerPoint presentation on Kargil War Heroes, designed and presented by students, paid tribute to the sacrifices and bravery of the armed forces, instilling respect and admiration among the younger generation.
The celebration concluded with the release of tricolored balloons, symbolizing the soaring spirit of a free and united nation, followed by the National Anthem. The event was orchestrated by the enthusiastic members of Yamuna House and elegantly compered by students from Class XI.
Hon'ble President, RCT, Sh. M.K. Ajatshatru Singh Ji, Hon'ble PVC Dr. Kunwrani Ritu Singh Ji, and Hon'ble Director Sh. S.S Sodhi Ji conveyed their warm wishes, emphasizing unity and integrity for the nation's progress.
The assembly, a harmonious blend of cultural expression and patriotic fervour, served as a reminder of the nation's journey and the collective responsibility to uphold its values.
