APS Damana organizes CBSE capacity building programme on school health, wellness

Jammu, Aug 12: Army Public School Damana, in collaboration with the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), hosted a dynamic two-day Capacity Building Program focusing on School Health and Wellness on 11-12 August 2023, at the Multipurpose Hall of the School.
The closing ceremony of the program witnessed Brig Vivek Puri, SM, Chairman Army Public School Damana, as the Chief Guest. The event was graced by the presence of esteemed Resource Persons and Educators from various prestigious institutions. The programme commenced with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp.
The insightful sessions were conducted by two accomplished Resource Persons: Mrs. Rohini Aima, Principal of Jammu Sanskriti School, Jammu, known for her expertise in instructional skills, educational psychology, and teaching pedagogy; and Pushpinder Kaur, Principal of APS Damana, who has extensive experience in both education and administration.
A total of 62 Educators from 26 reputable CBSE Schools participated in this Capacity-Building Programme. The two-day workshop encompassed a wide range of 11 Modules addressing the needs and concerns of different age groups. The topics covered included Growing up Healthy, Emotional & Mental Well Being, Interpersonal Relationships, Values and Citizenship, Gender Equality, Nutrition Health & Sanitation, Prevention and Management of Substance Abuse, Promotion of Healthy Lifestyle, Reproductive Health and HIV Prevention, Safety and Security against Violence and Injuries, and Safe use of the Internet.
The workshop featured interactive sessions, panel discussions, role plays, and hands-on activities, enabling educators to gain practical insights and actionable strategies to implement in their respective Schools, thereby enhancing the learning journey and amplifying the advantages for children. Participants actively shared their experiences and best practices, creating a vibrant atmosphere of learning.
The pivotal aim of the Workshop was to equip the Educators from CBSE Schools with the tools to create an empowering and supportive environment, focusing on fostering the holistic growth of students. This includes their academic, emotional, and social development, ultimately preparing them for a successful future. In his address, the Chief Guest expressed his appreciation for the dedication of Educators towards fostering the comprehensive growth of students. He highlighted the pivotal role schools play in shaping the physical, mental, and emotional development of students. The event concluded on a patriotic note, with the recitation of the national anthem followed by tea for all the attendees.
