DC exhorts teachers to learn, understand new pedagogies

JAMMU, Aug 18: Deputy Commissioner Samba, Abhishek Sharma commended the role of Teachers as all pervasive in shaping the life of the younger generation. "Though technology has entered into every sphere of life including the teaching learning processes but there is no replacement for the role that teachers play in building aware human beings', the DC said while addressing a huge audience of teachers at the inaugural function of a Capacity Building Workshop organised for teachers from CBSE schools of Jammu, Samba, Kathua, Akhnoor and Udhampur.
As the Chief Guest, the DC shared valuable insights on the significance of attending workshops. He appreciated the attendance of a large number of teachers at the workshop.
The transformative capacity building program was conducted under the aegis of Jammu Sahodaya School Complex, Jammu at Mahavir International School.
Sandeep Sethi, Ex-Education Officer CBSE & Director Academics Maharaja Sawai Man Singh II Trust Jaipur, was the resource person. Chairman of the school, Hira Lal Abrol, Director Gourav Abrol and Principal Kundan Lal Dogra graced the occasion with their presence.
The workshop commenced with a ceremonious lighting of the lamp, followed by a heartwarming welcome song performed by the talented students of classes 9th & 10th. The school Principal, Kundan Lal Dogra, delivered the welcome address, thereby setting tone for the event. Highlight of the program was the interactive skill development program by the resource person, Sandeep Sethi, who had traveled from Jaipur to conduct the program. Nearly 150 teachers from 38 prestigious CBSE schools were engaged in lively discussions and shared their experiences, enhancing their professional growth.
The main aim was to equip the teachers with pedagogies of experiential learning; theatre in class rooms; graphic novels; developing test series and preparing students for CUET.
The workshop fostered a vibrant exchange of ideas and best practices among educators. Distinguished personalities in the education sector, including Rajesh Rathore, President Jammu Sahodaya School Complex & Principal JK Public School, Jammu and mentor of Jammu Sahodaya, KCS Mehta, Director principals IDPS Akhnoor graced the occasion, adding to the event's significance.
