ADGP Jammu flags off first batch of devotees for Buddha Amarnath Ji Yatra

JAMMU, Aug 18: The journey of spiritual devotion commenced today as the Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) for Jammu Zone, Mukesh Singh, IPS, inaugurated the first batch of 1,338 pilgrims from the Bhagwati Nagar Base Camp for the revered Buddha Amarnath Shrine in Mandi, Poonch district. The event was attended by a significant gathering of representatives from religious and social organizations, lending a momentous air to the auspicious occasion. Among the distinguished attendees were Vinayakrao Deshpande, Central General Secretary of VHP (Vishva Hindu Parishad); Mukesh Khanderkar, North India General Secretary of VHP; Rajesh Gupta, Working President of Vishva Hindu Parishad - Jammu & Kashmir, and other prominent figures.
The Bhagwati Nagar Base Camp was enlivened with the presence of numerous devotees, who filled the atmosphere with melodious hymns and spiritual bhajans, creating an atmosphere of profound devotion.
Addressing the gathering, ADGP Jammu, Mukesh Singh, highlighted the significance of the Shri Buddha Amarnath Ji Yatra, an important Hindu pilgrimage in Northern India, situated within the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir. He extended his appreciation towards the collaborative efforts of various agencies that have been instrumental in ensuring the successful organization of the Yatra.
With paramount importance placed on the safety and well-being of the pilgrims, the Jammu & Kashmir Police and paramilitary forces have been strategically stationed to safeguard the Yatra. The pilgrimage consists of 907 male, 411 female, and 20 child devotees who embarked on their spiritual journey in 29 vehicles on this day. Stringent security measures have been put in place to ensure the convenience and comfort of the pilgrims throughout the course of the Yatra.
The commencement of the Buddha Amarnath Ji Yatra marks a time of collective devotion and reverence, where pilgrims come together to embark on a spiritual expedition. The event signifies the unity and harmony within the community as they embark on a journey filled with faith and devotion.
The authorities have expressed their gratitude to all participants and devotees for their active involvement and adherence to safety measures, which play a pivotal role in facilitating the peaceful and successful conduct of the Yatra.
