Early Times Report
JAMMU, Aug 18: Ajay Kumar Sadhotra, a senior leader of the National Conference, criticized the BJP-led government for its policies that he believes have adversely affected small traders. Speaking at an interaction with office bearers of Swarankar Sanastha Jammu West in the Janipur area of Jammu North Assembly Constituency, Sadhotra expressed solidarity with the struggling traders and highlighted the challenges they face due to economic downturn and government policies.
Sadhotra specifically mentioned the negative impact of demonetization and the introduction of the Goods and Services Tax (GST) regime. He noted that these policies have taken a toll on small traders and daily earners, including reddiwallas and vendors, leading to tough times for these segments of the population. He criticized the government's lack of understanding and sensitivity towards the issues faced by the common masses.
During the interaction, Sadhotra assured the trading community that their concerns and grievances would be conveyed to the appropriate authorities through National Conference President and Member of Parliament, Dr. Farooq Abdullah. He pointed out that the current government, which is being run by bureaucrats, appears disconnected from the problems faced by the people.
Sadhotra commended the resilience and determination displayed by the trading community in the face of these challenges. He acknowledged their strength in coping with economic hardships and affirmed the need for policymakers to address their concerns effectively.
The interaction was organized by Ramesh Abrol and Gurnam Singh. The Swarankar Sanastha was led by Surinder Bhasin, Chairman, and Ashwani Babbar, President. Sadhotra's engagement with the office bearers provided an opportunity to discuss the pressing issues affecting the local trading community and to share insights on potential solutions.
As economic issues continue to impact various sectors, leaders like Ajay Kumar Sadhotra are playing an active role in advocating for the interests of small traders and daily wage earners, aiming to ensure their voices are heard and their concerns addressed by the relevant authorities.
