J&K kick boxing team sets off for WAKO India Kick Boxing Federation national event

JAMMU, Aug 21: The Jammu and Kashmir Kick Boxing team embarked on its journey to participate in the WAKO India Kick Boxing Federation cadet, sub-junior, junior National event, scheduled to be held in Ranchi, Jharkhand from July 23rd to July 27th, 2023.
Organized by the Jharkhand Kick Boxing Association under the banner of WAKO India Kickboxing Federation, this event gathers kick boxers from various states to showcase their skills and compete at a national level.
The selection process for the J&K team was rigorous, involving a state championship where 54 players demonstrated their prowess. The selected team underwent medical assessments and weigh-ins, conducted by the Kickboxing Association of J&K, at the MA Stadium.
The team had the privilege of being introduced to Abhishek Jain, the General Secretary of the Kick Boxing Association of J&K, and Ajay Verma, the Jammu District President of the organization.
Guided by delegation head Sh. Irfan Choudhary, a recipient of the Sher-e-Kashmir award, and Sudarshan Singh, a National referee and senior coach from J&K, the team embarked on the journey accompanied by coaches Deepanshu, Vishal, and Waseem Shah.
The J&K Kick Boxing team carries with them the hopes and aspirations of their state as they set out to demonstrate their skills and sportsmanship at the national level event. The dedication and hard work of the athletes, along with the support of their coaches and the Kick Boxing Association of J&K, are commendable in this endeavor.
