JAMMU, Aug 21: The "Harayali Teej Festival" was celebrated with fervor and enthusiasm by Bharat Vikas Parishad Trikuta Nagar on Sunday at Mint Leaf, Marble Market Jammu. The event marked a joyous occasion as attendees gathered to embrace the spirit of Teej, with traditional rituals and cultural festivities.
The Teej program commenced with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp, the recitation of Vande Mataram, and a warm welcome extended to the Chief Guest, Rekha Mahajan, BJP District President Jammu South. Amita Sharma, Regional Secretary of Bharat Vikas Parishad, was honored as the guest of honor. The event was meticulously organized by President of Bharat Vikas Parishad, Vanita Kohli, along with the dedicated members of the ladies club.
Addressing the august gathering, Rekha Mahajan emphasized the significance of the "Teej Festival" and commended the efforts of the club members in orchestrating a colorful and memorable event. She highlighted that Hariyali Teej, celebrated with grandeur across the country, symbolizes the union of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati. The festival brings devotees together to seek blessings for conjugal harmony, marital bliss, and the well-being of their families. Women, in particular, offer prayers for the longevity of their husbands and the prosperity of their children.
Rekha Mahajan extended her gratitude to the Bharat Vikas Parishad team for inviting her to the esteemed occasion. She underscored the importance of participating in social festivals to stay connected with the rich cultural heritage of the community.
The event witnessed a magnificent display of cultural performances. Nitika Agarwal graced the occasion as the Teej queen and presented a beautiful dance performance. Meena Rhometra added musical charm to the evening by singing a song related to Teej, captivating the audience.
The event was a collaborative effort, with executive members including Ritu Gupta (Treasurer), Neetu Bhandari (Mahila Pramukh), Kalpana Chopra (Organizing Secretary), Sushma Jamwal (Sanskar Pramukh), Arushi Anand, Meena Rohmetra, Tina Anand, Monica Gandotra, and Sheetal Gupta, among others, contributing to its success.
Vanita Kohli, expressing her gratitude, thanked all the participants for their enthusiastic involvement, which contributed to making the event a resounding success.
