RKTIKOO represents Jammu and kashmir at regional symposium on child protection

Jammu, Aug 21: Renowned socio-cultural activist RKTIKOO, hailing from Jammu and Kashmir and an alumnus of Banaras Hindu University, participated in a one-day Regional Symposium organized by the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights, Ministry of Women and Child Development, Government of India, held at Banaras Hindu University in Varanasi.
During the symposium, RKTIKOO addressed various issues related to child protection, safety, and welfare. He emphasized the importance of creating an ecosystem where children can develop without compromising their safety and well-being. He also highlighted the measures being undertaken by the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir in this regard.
RKTIKOO engaged in discussions with representatives from 256 NGOs across different states and officials from the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights. He stressed the need for additional measures to ensure child protection, including the establishment of observation homes for women in distress.
He highlighted the importance of facilities such as libraries, recreational rooms, and enhanced mess facilities, along with providing female security and access to education. He also advocated for the appointment of chairpersons and members as per the S.O No 542, UT rules 2022.
RKTIKOO, known for his expertise as an Ento-Agrostology Specialist in the Jammu and Kashmir Government, has contributed significantly to the field. He has presented and published multiple social and scientific papers, including six at national conferences and one at an international scientific conference.
