Training Program for Principals of Higher Secondary Schools on Capacity Building

JAMMU, Aug 24: A four-day training program titled "Induction Capacity Building Programme for Principals of Higher Secondary Schools on SLDP/Conducive Environment in the Schools" was recently conducted by EPMM Department Academic Unit III, JKSCERT (Jammu and Kashmir State Council of Educational Research and Training), Jammu. The program was held under the guidance of Director SCERT J&K, Prof. (Dr.) Prikshat Singh Manhas, and the overall supervision of Sh. H.R Pakhroo, Joint Director SCERT Jammu.
The target group for the program consisted of 40 Principals from higher secondary schools across each district of Jammu Division. The primary aim of the program was to provide orientation to the participants regarding the financial and administrative aspects of their roles as principals.
The training program saw participation from 37 principals representing 10 districts of Jammu Division. They were guided by experienced resource persons including Prof. Surjeet Kumar Sharma, N.P. Singh, Monica Sharma, Suresh Kumar Gouria, Dr. Harpreet Kour, Navneet Gupta, Rakesh Chobber, Dheeraj Jandial (JKAS), Utkarsh Sharma, Rajesh Hali, Rohit Sharma, Dr. Balgar Singh, Vinay Dhar, Dheeraj Salathia from PFMS, Anil Sharma, and Yogesh Kumar. The workshop was conducted under the overall supervision of Prof. Surjeet Kumar Sharma, the Head of AU-III, with the support of coordinating team members.
The training covered a wide range of topics to enhance the knowledge of principals, including the functioning of GeM Portal, PFMS (Public Financial Management System), PM e-Vidya, VVM (Vidyarthi Vigyan Manthan), Income Tax Rules, Leave rules, Pension Rules, GFR (General Financial Rules), Leadership skills, Soft skills, ECCE (Early Childhood Care and Education), Vocational Education, Assessment Scheme, and HPC (Human Performance Capacity), among others.
Joint Director H.R. Pakhroo emphasized the importance of sharing the knowledge gained from the program and working in alignment with the vision of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.
The valedictory session saw Puneet Thukral, Senior Administrative Officer and Coordinator of the program, extending gratitude to all the dignitaries present. The event concluded with the distribution of appreciation certificates to the participants. The workshop aimed to equip principals with enhanced knowledge and skills to contribute effectively to the education landscape.
