Reliance Jio launches true 5G service at Acharya Shri Chander College of Medical Sciences

JAMMU, Aug 24: Reliance Jio has embarked on its transformative journey with Jio True 5G services, focusing on major educational campuses as part of its commitment to the 'Har Ghar Jal' campaign. Leveraging the immense potential of True 5G in education, Acharya Shri Chander College of Medical Sciences & Hospital marked the inauguration of Jio's True 5G services, making it the first educational institution in the Jammu region of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir to be equipped with this advanced technology.
The launch event commenced with a ceremonial lamp lighting by D.K. Batra, Secretary of ASCOMS (Acharya Shri Chander College of Medical Sciences), Manik Batra, Trustee of ASCOMS, Dr. Pavan Malhotra, Director Principal of ASCOMS, and Shri Aashutosh Bajaj, State Business Head of Reliance Jio Infocomm, Jammu. The launch received a warm reception from students, faculty members, and staff of the college. As part of the event, the YOUTH PASS Program was introduced, offering students exclusive offers.
Prominent dignitaries present at the event included Dr. Ravinder K Gupta, Prof & HOD (Head of Department), Pediatrics, and Vice Chairman, Sports & Cultural Activities of ASCOMS, Dr. Rabinder Rattanpal, Medical Superintendent of ASCOMS, Dr. Meraj Din Chauhan, DGM (Hospital Administration & Audit) of ASCOMS, Mrs. Davinder Kaur, Vice Principal of ASCCON Education, and Dr. Vikaram Parihan, Vice Principal of ASCOPS.
Dr. Pavan Malhotra, Director Principal, expressed his gratitude to Reliance Jio for selecting Acharya Shri Chander College of Medical Sciences & Hospital as the first educational institution in the UT of Jammu & Kashmir for the launch of 5G services. He highlighted that the emerging 5G network offers lower latency, increased capacity, and enhanced bandwidth compared to 4G. Dr. Malhotra discussed the salient features of 5G services, emphasizing how they will transform education through Jio's True 5G. He predicted that Jio's True 5G will enhance learning experiences for students and empower faculty members to excel.
Ashutosh Bajaj, State Business Head of Reliance Jio Infocomm, introduced the True 5G services through a presentation, focusing on the transformational possibilities in education. With an emphasis on seamless connectivity and a superior experience, Jio's 5G network has been thoughtfully designed to cater to the high data requirements of medical students and ensure an enriched learning experience.
In an interactive session with students, the Jio Jammu team highlighted the multifaceted benefits and potential of True 5G. The team showcased various use cases of 5G in the medical field through video presentations, demonstrating the extensive growth opportunities in areas like e-governance, automation, artificial intelligence, gaming, agriculture, IT, and healthcare.
Mr. Bajaj highlighted that Reliance Jio is rapidly expanding its True 5G network across Jammu, covering all districts, and is the only service provider to have spectrum in the premium 700 MHz band, considered ideal for 5G deployment. The advanced technology and robust infrastructure of Jio's True 5G network make it a transformative force in education, aligning with India's vision for a brighter future driven by digital learning.
Mr. D.K. Batra, Secretary of ASCOMS, expressed his gratitude for making ASCOMS Campus the first True 5G-enabled educational institution in the UT of J&K, applauding Reliance Jio's pioneering efforts.
