Early Times Report
JAMMU, Aug 24: Ajaz Jan, the Provincial Youth President of Jammu and Kashmir National Conference (JKNC), has strongly condemned the use of force against peaceful protesters demanding the suspension of the Sarora toll plaza. Speaking at a meeting of youth activists at Sher-e-Kashmir Bhawan in Jammu, Jan expressed deep concern over the incident and the underlying issues surrounding the toll plaza.
Jan highlighted that the Sarora toll plaza has become a symbol of violation of toll plaza norms and has led to rightful protests. He emphasized that the installation of the toll plaza goes against established principles and regulations governing such collection points.
Focusing on the demands of the youth in the Jammu region, Jan advocated for the immediate removal of the Sarora toll plaza. He stressed the detrimental effects it has on the national highway and the region as a whole, and underlined the importance of its removal for the well-being of the area.
Criticizing the current administration, Jan held them responsible for the challenges faced by the youth in the Jammu region. He pointed out the high levels of unemployment and recruitment scams in Jammu and Kashmir, attributing them to the lack of effective policies and initiatives by the present government.
Jan also expressed concern about the faulty and inflated power bills resulting from the installation of Smart Meters in the Jammu region. He called for the immediate replacement of Smart meters with old meters.
Jan reaffirmed that the National Conference is the party with the vision and commitment to address the pressing issues faced by the youth in the Jammu region. He assured the public that the party is dedicated to finding comprehensive solutions and advocating for their welfare.
During the meeting, numerous youths from across the region joined the National Conference, motivated by the dedicated leadership of Dr. Farooq Abdullah and Omar Abdullah. The leaders' commitment to the welfare of the people of Jammu and Kashmir has resonated strongly with the youth, inspiring them to actively participate in shaping the future of the region.
Additionally, Youth National Conference (YNC) activists staged a protest against the introduction of Smart Meters in Jammu. Led by Tejiner Pal Singh, the District President of YNC, along with Nistish Goswami and Adv Zameer Qureshi, Secretaries of YNC, the protest aimed to voice apprehensions and grievances about the implementation of Smart Meters in the region.
Prominent individuals, including Gurpreet Singh, Amandeep Singh, Rajesh Sharma, and others, joined the National Conference during the event. The program saw the presence of Abid Magrey, Som Raj, Tejinder Pal Singh (Aman), Nitish Goswami, Zamir Qureshi, and various other participants.
