DC reviews progress of development works

BARAMULLA, Aug 25: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Baramulla, Dr Syed Sehrish Asgar today chaired a meeting at Dak Bungalow here to review the progress of works under various components including District Capex Budget, CSS, Border Area Development Plan, SSY, and other related sectors of public importance.
At the outset, Dr Sehrish took a detailed and sector wise review of the progress of deliverables of all the pertaining departments. The DC was apprised about the deliverables of various departments including Revenue, Animal and Sheep Husbandry, Education, Industries and Commerce.
Reviewing the detailed departmental deliverables of all the departments, the DC impressed upon all the officers to accomplish all the deliverables according to a fixed timeline. She further stressed on providing hassle free public services by strengthening accountability and transparency in offices adding that effective public service delivery and robust grievance redressal mechanism is fundamental to the good governance architecture.
The DC also reviewed the progress of works under District Capex Budget 2023-24 including DDC, BDC, PRI components and status of developmental deliverables in the district. During the meeting, it was informed that 26 works have been accorded under Border Area Development Plan for the current year under which 5 works have been accomplished while as other works have been tendered. Similarly, the meeting was informed that 38 works have been proposed for the current year under Samridhi Seema Yojana. On the occasion, DC was also appraised with regard to works alloted, tendered and status of works completed in other sectors. After taking the work wise review, the DC stressed the concerned authorities to take all possible measures to accelerate the pace for their time-bound completion. The DC asked the officers to ensure speedy allotment, execution and completion of each work. Meanwhile, the DC also had a review of the implementation of developmental works under Languishing Programme and Aspirational District Programme during which she directed officers to play proactive role and ensure added promptness so that district Baramulla shall gain the pace in execution of development projects, programmes, initiatives and welfare schemes. The meeting was attended by Additional District Development Commissioner Baramulla, Aijaz Abdullah Saraf; Additional Deputy Commissioner Baramulla, Dr Zahoor Ahmad Raina; Joint Director Planning, Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Superintending Engineer R&B, Chief Education officer besides all officers of concerned departments
