Jammu Sanskriti School shines at commerce Fest 2023

JAMMU, Aug 25: Jammu Sanskriti School demonstrated their prowess in the dynamic world of business and commerce at the Commerce Fest 2023, a captivating inter-school event hosted by G.D Goenka School. The fest showcased the inherent skills of Jammu Sanskritians, highlighting their aptitude for tackling real-world market scenarios. With a theme centered around "unlocking business horizons and creating an unforgettable experience," the fest encompassed a variety of events related to marketing, finance, economics, and business management.
The Commerce Fest drew participants from schools across the Jammu region, providing a unique platform for young talents to hone their commercial skills. The event was open to students ranging from classes 9 to 12, fostering an atmosphere of healthy competition and learning.
The occasion was graced by the presence of Dr. G.S. Grewal, an eminent Indian Chartered Accountant, who shared his visionary insights into the essential skills for the 21st century. His wisdom resonated with the students, guiding them towards a future of excellence.
A multitude of events captivated the participants, each emphasizing critical thinking, innovative ideas, and strategic acumen:
This event saw teams of two students pitching their entrepreneurial business ideas. Rashmi Rajput and Vanshika from class 11C secured the third position, impressing the judges with their originality, feasibility, impact, and presentation.
Students Mannat Singh, Gurjas Kour, Anshika Rajput, and Tanisha from class 12C exhibited their business strategies in dynamic scenarios as finance, production, sales, and procurement managers. Their analytical prowess and decision-making skills secured them the third rank.
A debate on the sustainability and profitability of different retail modes was fiercely contested. Two students from Jammu Sanskriti School clinched the second position, showcasing their oratory finesse and understanding of the subject.
A quiz testing knowledge in economics, financial management, business management, and current affairs, saw students Vivan and Simranjot Kaur from class 11C participating and performing exceptionally well.
Nitin Saini and Hunardeep Singh from class 12C delved into financial statements of a hypothetical company, expertly applying various financial ratios to enhance its performance.
The Principal Cum Vice Chairperson, Rohini Aima, commended the students for their participation and encouraged them to consistently apply their practical skills on such platforms. She emphasized the collaborative and expressive nature of such events, which enrich the learning experience. Vice Principal Avneet Budhraja echoed this sentiment, underlining the importance of innovative and curious learning to compete in the modern business world.
The students were guided by mentors Sarika Sharma and Pooja Sharma, both experts in Commerce. The outstanding performance of Jammu Sanskriti School at the Commerce Fest 2023 solidifies its reputation as a hub of talented, forward-thinking individuals ready to make their mark in the world of business and commerce.
