Early Times Report
JAMMU, Aug 26: In a grand inauguration ceremony, the curtains were raised on the 6th edition of the Jodhamal Youth Conclave (JYC) at Jodhamal Public School. This 3-day event serves as a dynamic platform for top schools from across the nation to engage in simulated United Nations discussions across various committees, thereby delving into multifaceted agendas.
The primary aim of the Jodhamal Youth Conclave is to empower students with a profound understanding of the rapidly evolving global geopolitical landscape, social dynamics, and environmental concerns. Attended by over 300 delegates hailing from ten distinguished schools, including Mayo College Girls' School, Ajmer, and Delhi Public School, Udhampur, the conclave is set to be a melting pot of diverse perspectives.
With the overarching theme for this year's edition being "Bridging the World: One Conference at a time," the Jodhamal Youth Conclave seeks to promote international cooperation and understanding among the youth, inspiring them to play an active role in shaping a better world.
The conclave is marked by its unique committee structure, offering participants the opportunity to engage in discussions across a wide range of topics. These include the status of the center-state relationship in India, NATO's role in the Russian-Ukrainian conflict, transnational organized crime and its impact on human rights, gender-based bias in corporate environments, freedom of the press in India, and the implementation of digital media ethics codes.
Dr. Meenakshi Kilam, Rector of the Kathua Campus, University of Jammu, graced the inauguration ceremony as the Chief Guest. The event was inaugurated with the lighting of a sacred lamp and the presentation of gavels to the committee chairpersons, symbolizing the commencement of intellectual discourse.
The Jodhamal Youth Conclave's directorate, comprising dedicated student organizers and mentors, worked tirelessly to ensure the smooth execution of the event. Alongside the committee deliberations, the conclave also unveiled the MUNBELIEVABLE newsletter, providing attendees with a comprehensive snapshot of the event's proceedings.
As the conclave unfolds over the next three days, it promises a plethora of stimulating debates, discussions, and diplomatic negotiations. The culmination of the event will be marked by an elaborate Prize Giving Ceremony, acknowledging the exemplary efforts and insights shared by the participants.
The Jodhamal Youth Conclave 2023 is not merely an intellectual exercise; it stands as a testament to the power of youth-driven initiatives in fostering global awareness, collaboration, and enduring friendships.
