Early Times Report

Jammu, Aug 26: The Economic Offences Wing of Crime Branch (CB) Jammu has filed a charge-sheet against Fayaz Ahmed Bhat, son of Ghulam Hassan Bhatt and resident of Qazipora, Chadoora District Budgam. Fayaz Ahmed Bhat has been charged with cheating complainant Amreek Singh, son of Late Sh. Bishamber Lal from Bakshi Nagar, Jammu. The charge-sheet was presented in the Court of law after thorough investigation by CB Jammu.
The case revolves around allegations that Fayaz Ahmed Bhat, a government employee in the Civil Secretariat, deceived Amreek Singh by promising him that he could arrange a Class-IV government job for Singh’s wife in District Doda through the Jammu and Kashmir Services Selection Board (JKSSB). In return, Bhat demanded a monetary consideration of Rs 3 Lakh.
The investigation, initiated after a written complaint by Amreek Singh, uncovered that Fayaz Ahmed Bhat manipulated Singh by using his alleged contacts and influence within the JKSSB. Preliminary verifications substantiated the allegations, leading to the registration of a formal case for an in-depth investigation.
During the investigation process, the case was meticulously examined. Statements from the complainant and other key witnesses were recorded, relevant records were seized, and material evidence was collected. This evidence was used to build a charge-sheet comprising 123 pages, which was submitted to the Court for judicial determination.
The incident serves as a reminder of the importance of thorough background checks and vigilance when dealing with offers related to government jobs or other sensitive matters. The charge-sheeting of Fayaz Ahmed Bhat reflects the Crime Branch’s commitment to upholding the law and ensuring justice for victims of fraud and deception.
