Jammu police seizes 13.5 grams of heroin, arrests peddler in Bagh e Bahu

Jammu, Aug 26: In its relentless pursuit against drug trafficking, Jammu Police has achieved a significant breakthrough by recovering 13.5 grams of heroin from an individual within the jurisdiction of PS Bagh e Bahu.
A team from PS Bagh e Bahu, led by SDPO East Syed Zaheer Abbas Jafari and assisted by SHO PS Bagh e Bahu Inspr Arti Thakur, apprehended a suspected person during a naka duty at NHW Bravo 3 naka. The individual, traveling in a vehicle with Registration No Jk08N/2032 from Narwal to Sidhra, was found in possession of 13.5 grams of heroin. The accused, later identified as Liyaqat Ali S/O Sheru Din R/O Hiranagar District Kathua, was arrested and a case FIR No. 74/2023 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act was registered at PS Bagh e Bahu. Further investigation into the case is underway, as Jammu Police works rigorously to dismantle the drug supply network in the region. The accused is being thoroughly interrogated to trace the origin of the drugs supply chain.
Jammu Police is committed to eliminating the menace of drug abuse and is actively engaging with the community, especially the youth, to raise awareness.
