Dr Darakhshan Andrabi inaugurates Women's Pencak Silat League 2023 under Khelo India Mission

SRINAGAR, Aug 26: Dr. Darakhshan Andrabi, J&K Waqf Board Chairperson and Minister of State (J&K), inaugurated the Women's Pencak Silat League 2023 at the Indoor Stadium in Srinagar. The event was organized by Asmita under the Khelo India mission of the Government of India. Dr. Andrabi graced the inaugural ceremony as the Chief Guest, where young female athletes showcased their talents in the sport. Numerous renowned teams participated in the event.
During the inauguration, Dr. Andrabi presented participation certificates to both the teams and individual sportswomen. She commended Asmita's efforts in providing a platform for talented girls in the sport. Reflecting on the sports sector's progress in J&K over the past three years, she highlighted the emergence of gifted medalists and the remarkable prowess of women athletes. "Our Girl Power on the field & on the turf is amazing, and we are proud of our excellent winners of different games at National & International platforms," Andrabi stated.
Moreover, Dr. Andrabi underscored the transformative impact of the Khelo India Mission on India's sports sector. She expressed pride in India's ascendance as a formidable Sports Power, citing the mission's pivotal role in this achievement.
