Police swiftly solves theft case; arrests accused, recovers stolen items

Poonch, Aug 26: Within a span of just 24 hours, the Poonch Police successfully cracked a theft case, resulting in the arrest of the accused and the recovery of stolen items.
On August 25, 2023, a complaint was filed at PS Poonch by Shwait Misri, reporting a theft that occurred during the previous night at the residence of Advocate Sanjay Raina in Mohalla Panditan, Poonch. The thief had stolen a transformer coil and valuable antique items. In response, Case FIR No. 137/2023 U/S 457/380 IPC was registered at PS Poonch, and the investigation was promptly initiated.
The police conducted thorough investigations and analyzed technical data such as CDRs and CCTV footage. This effort led them to a suspect named Zaulifqar Ahmed, also known as Julie. Upon interrogation, Zaulifqar Ahmed confessed to the crime and revealed the location of the stolen items. The police team, led by DySP Hqrs Poonch Sh. Afrat Hussain and SHO Poonch Insp. Deepak Pathania, successfully apprehended the suspect and recovered all the stolen items from his possession.
The efficient and effective handling of the case by the police was praised by the people of Poonch, who appreciated their quick action in solving the theft and apprehending the accused. The investigation was overseen by SSP Poonch Sh. Vinay Kumar JKPS.
