Jammu, Aug 27: Amid a bandh in Jammu on August 26, a series of meetings were held in the national capital for two days while crucial decisions are expected soon.
Top sources said between August 24 morning and August 26 evening, a series of meetings were held in Delhi wherein the situation in Jammu was discussed threadbare.
Sources said the meetings that were held by the union government and the Bharatiya Janta Party observed that the “situation which has arisen in Jammu cannot be seen as reaction to isolated issues but some other failures as well.”
Sources said those from the JK administration side who attended the meetings tried to “give a rosy picture of the situation but that the same wasn’t accepted as a convincing response.”
Sources said the meetings largely resolved that there was a need to take “crucial decisions to streamline administrative affairs in line with the vision of Naya Jammu and Kashmir.”
Sources said some BJP leaders from Jammu and Kashmir telephonically conveyed it to the Union government that the “things are not in place for the party interests and that such a situation would be detrimental for the party interests.”
The sources said the situation having arisen ahead of the polls, which are round the corner was also discussed in particular.
“Given the fact that from the elections for the grassroots through ULB expected this year to the Parliament elections scheduled next year, the situation has become tricky and thus the centre will have to take crucial decisions soon on Jammu and Kashmir,” said a source privy to the developments taking place in Delhi.
It’s pertinent to mention that a day ahead of the call for Jammu bandh some of the senior functionaries from JK administration were hurriedly “summoned to the national capital.”
“Now that the meetings have concluded the decisions will be taken in the coming days and people will get to know about the same,” said the source.
