Community Health Centre R.S Pura gets Jan Aushadhi Kendra

JAMMU, Aug 28: Director Health Services Jammu Dr. Rajeev Kumar Sharma today inaugurated Jan Aushadhi Kendra at Community Health Centre (CHC) R. S Pura.
With the opening of Jan Aushadhi Kendra, the patients can get quality medicines at affordable prices reducing their out of pocket expenditure.
The Director Health Services interacted with the doctors and directed them to prescribe only generic medicines available at Jan Aushadhi Kendra. He took a round of all sections of the hospital and was satisfied with its working.
Meanwhile , the Director launched the Intensified National Iron Plus Initiative campaign under Anaemia Mukt Bharat in Jammu district here from Flt. Lt. Advitiya Bal Government Girls Higher Secondary School R. S Pura. A screening camp for school children to detect anaemia was also conducted and on spot treatment was given to anaemic students by the Nodal Officer appointed by the school for Anaemia Mukt Bharat in coordination with the RBSK team of R. S Pura.
The Director Health Services, while addressing the school staff and children, said that Nutritional anaemia is a major public health problem in India and is primarily due to Iron deficiency that is prevalent among all age groups.
In young children iron deficiency is due to increased iron requirement during rapid growth, he said and added that this Intensified Iron plus initiative shall combat iron deficiency anaemia and develop new strategies to address anaemia with primary emphasis on adolescent girls and women in reproductive age groups.
Govt. Girls Higher Secondary School R. S Pura has been chosen as a role model for Anaemia Mukt Bharat Campaign. Similar Test Treat Talk camps shall be conducted in each and every school of Jammu division on the same pattern to make Jammu division Anaemia free.
The event was organized by Chief Medical Officer Jammu, Dr. Harbaksh Singh and Block Medical Officer R S Pura Dr. Monika Kotwal with the support of Principal Govt. Girls Higher Secondary School R. S Pura Manmeet Bali and Divisional Nodal Officer Anaemia Mukt Bharat Jammu Dr. Rashmi Sharma.
Controller of Stores Dr. Ritesh Khullar; Divisional Nutrition Officer Dr. Jyoti Jolly; District Nodal Officer Anaemia Mukt Bharat Jammu, Dr. Rashmi Sharma and Medical Officer Medical Mobile Unit Jammu Dr. Sunita Sharma along with team were also present on the occasion.
