Early Times Report
KATHUA, Aug 30: Kathua Campus, University of Jammu, has initiated a Two-Week Stationery Donation Drive-II with the goal of providing essential learning tools to underprivileged children in the adopted village of Kathera. Dr. Meenakshi Kilam, Rector of Kathua Campus, University of Jammu, highlighted the significance of this endeavor, emphasizing its role in bridging educational gaps and nurturing a brighter future for children who lack access to fundamental learning resources. Dr. Kilam expressed that education is the foundation of a thriving society, and every child deserves the chance to learn and prosper. She acknowledged that many children from marginalized backgrounds face educational barriers due to limited access to basic tools, and Kathua Campus (JU) recognizes this challenge. The stationery donation drive underscores the campus's commitment to create a positive impact by equipping children in the adopted village with the resources needed to excel academically and pursue their aspirations. Dr. Sourabh Shastri, Convener of the Stationery Collection Drive and In-charge Head of Computer Science at Kathua Campus (JU), encouraged participation by urging individuals to contribute new or gently used stationery items such as notebooks, pencils, pens, erasers, rulers, and art supplies. He emphasized that these seemingly small contributions can significantly transform the lives of these children by fostering their creativity and unlocking their potential. Several individuals including Dr. Sunny Sharma, Ritika Goyal, Pranav Ratta, Dr. Zahin Ansari, Gaurav Sharma, Tiharika Nath, and Kamakshi were present during the launch event, demonstrating their support for this meaningful initiative.
