Early Times Report

Jammu, Aug 31: As a poignant reminder of the strong bond between civilians and the armed forces, little sisters from Delhi Public School Jammu, DPS Nagbani, and DPS Katra celebrated Raksha Bandhan by tying rakhis on the wrists of the Army Jawans and CRPF personnel in a heart-warming display of unity and appreciation here today. This event was led under the exceptional guidance of Dr. Kunwrani Ritu Singh, Pro-Vice Chairperson DPS Schools and Founder and Trustee of MHSSEF (J&K) and executed by the dedicated staff of these 3 schools.
Around 60 girl students of all 3 DPS schools of Jammu, Katra, and Nagbani visited CRPF quarters Katra and Army Stations at Ambhalla and Domana, and enthusiastically participated in the Raksha Bandhan tradition, tying rakhis on the wrists of Army Jawans along with sweets and tikka . They also presented them with hand-made, intricately crafted greeting cards, carrying heartfelt Raksha Bandhan messages on them. Hand-made drawings symbolizing the students' regard and honour for the soldiers were also gifted to them.
The little sisters offered prayers for safety and long life of the army personnel. In return, the soldiers blessed their sisters and assured them of their lifelong protection and support.
To infuse the event with a spirit of patriotism, students sang patriotic songs and danced alongside the soldiers. This added a sense of joy and celebration to the occasion. The army personnel were deeply impressed by the students' initiative. They encouraged the girl students to consider joining the military services, particularly CRPF, and had direct conversations with them to provide guidance and inspiration.
Visit to Army Stations and CRPF Headquarters inspired children and enabled them to connect on a personal level with the soldiers who offered the children a very warm reception and camaraderie by offering them various treats and snacks creating an atmosphere of mutual appreciation.
The school management of the 3 DPS schools- Hon’ble M.K Ajatshatru Singh, President- RCT/ PVC/Chairman and Trustee MHSSEF (J&K), Hon’ble Dr. Kunwrani Ritu Singh, PVC/Founder Trustee MHSSEF(J&K), along with and Hon’ble Sh. S.S Sodhi, Director/ Pro-Vice Chairperson expressed their wholehearted gratitude for the event and thanked the Army and CRPF Personnel for their great commitment to national security. They also conveyed their greetings on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan.
