GDC Vijaypur, takes pledge against corruption - a step towards a corruption-free J&K

SAMBA, Sept 9: Samba Govt. Degree College (GDC), Vijaypur, demonstrated its commitment to the fight against corruption by organizing a pledge-taking ceremony under the banner of 'Bhrashtachar Mukt J&K.' The ceremony, led by Dr. Vandana Gupta, the college's Principal, aimed to underscore the importance of integrity, ethics, and accountability.
The NSS Unit (KHIDMAT) of GDC Vijaypur initiated the pledge-taking ceremony as part of their commitment to combating corruption.
Dr. Vandana Gupta, Principal of the college, administered the pledge to both teaching and non-teaching faculty, students, and NSS volunteers. The pledge represented a significant step in promoting transparency, integrity, ethics, and accountability within the college community.
The ceremony recognized corruption as a persistent global challenge that hampers economic development, erodes trust in institutions, and disproportionately affects vulnerable populations.
The college aimed to emphasize the importance of collective actions in the fight against corruption. Participants pledged their unwavering commitment to ethical conduct, accountability, and anti-corruption measures.
By taking this pledge, participants demonstrated their dedication to upholding the highest standards of integrity in their respective roles within the college and beyond.
Dr. Vandana Gupta, the Principal of the college, highlighted the seriousness of the threat posed by corruption to society. She noted that corruption hinders progress and exacerbates inequality. Dr. Gupta reaffirmed the college's commitment to eradicating corruption at all levels.
The ceremony was coordinated by Dr. Shittal Sharma (Convenor, NSS and IQAC) and Dr. Naseem Chowdhary (NSS PO). It was co-coordinated by Prof. Anil Bhagat (HOD Commerce) and Prof. Poonam Kundan (Convener, Cultural Committee).
The pledge-taking ceremony at Govt. Degree College, Vijaypur, reflected the institution's dedication to fostering a culture of ethics and accountability. By taking a collective stand against corruption, the college community expressed its commitment to contributing to a corruption-free Jammu & Kashmir.
